Synthetic stone is also called man-made stone. It is a mineral-filled polymer composite material made of natural ore powder, waste, high-performance resin and natural pigments through vacuum casting. Synthetic stone is harder than traditional artificial stone. But it is not quartz stone! The price is also quite cheap, and some people even say that this is quartz stone misleading consumers.
Since synthetic stone is more resilient than natural marble, there is almost no design restriction on plasticity, unlimited creativity and unlimited performance. However, synthetic stone is prone to scratches and color penetration, so you need to pay attention to maintenance when using it. If it is damaged, it cannot be repaired by grinding or polishing, because its surface glossiness is specially treated. Moreover, synthetic stone is not resistant to high temperatures. It is recommended not to place hot utensils directly on the surface, but to use insulation pads.
Quartz stone is made of about 90% quartz sand, resin and antibacterial agent under vacuum, high pressure and high temperature. Because it contains a high amount of quartz sand as the main structure, its texture is harder and tighter, and it is not easy to make special shapes. Its plasticity is lower than other artificial stones. However, it has the characteristics of wear resistance, scratch resistance and anti-penetration that other materials cannot match. Because of its high hardness, quartz is not as easy to repair as artificial stone once it breaks. Under normal circumstances, quartz does not need to be taken care of, and should be avoided from direct contact with high-temperature containers to prevent it from bursting when heated.
Synthetic stone and quartz are both artificial stones. Due to different production processes and the use and proportion of raw materials, their quality and performance are different. The scope of application is also different. It is worth noting that the price of quartz is the highest among artificial stones. Be careful not to be deceived when buying!
